Arkansas history. The writer documents the early formation, settlers, post offices and business beginning in the 1830s up to the 1980s. This book is probably the best genealogy reference for this area. This book is hardbound, in perfect condition and has many old photographs and reference material.

This study of the 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre incident in Utah in which over 140 civilians in a wagon train headed west were massacred, reportedly by Mormon militiamen, author Denton
unravels the disputes between the Mormans and the federal government, as well as the events in the
aftermath of the massacre. If you know your history, you will remember that this wagon train were comprised of Arkansas and Missouri families and departed from what is now Boone County Arkansas. The sight where the wagon train began is called Caravan Springs and there a historical marker is placed there. It is located on Arkansas Highway 7, Just south of Harrison
Arkansas.

published in 1947. This publication discusses early history of Boone and Carroll County Arkansas. This book is out of print and this item is used. The condition of the book is Good, No jacket; the book is blue cloth with black title, it has a soiled cover. This book is out of print and extremely difficult to find or purchase.
